One key difference between general cleaners, who ‘have a go’ at doing windows, and professional window cleaners is the tools and techniques employed.
Window cleaning has come a long way since the rag and bucket days 100 years ago. And while squeegees are widely available for anyone to purchase, there are some that are much better than others.
There is a lot more to window cleaning than simply putting the water up and taking it down with a squeegee. Professional window cleaners use precision tools like scrapers, super fine grade steel wool, microfibre cloths, cobweb brushes and, of course, reverse-osmosis water-fed poles (pictured).
Our business was one of the first in Australia to use water-fed pole technology. It comes in very handy for high windows, where a squeegee might not leave the window ‘streak-free’. Reverse-osmosis is a water purification process that forces the water through a semi-permeable membrane to produce pure water that is free of most contaminants. The result is a wonderful finish on the glass, and this technology is also useful for cleaning glass pool fences.
